Ind vs SA T20 2022: Corona’s shadow on India-South Africa series, Aidan Markram found corona positive

New Delhi, Online Desk. The Indian cricket team is currently playing against South Africa in the T20 series against South Africa at their home. The first match of the five-match series was held in Arun Jaitley, Delhi on Wednesday. Before this series, the BCCI had decided to keep the players without the bio bubble. Aidan Markram of the visiting team was found corona positive just before the first match.

During the toss of the first T20 match in Delhi on Wednesday, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma informed about fellow player Aidan Markram being found corona infected. He told that he is not available for selection. After being found corona infected, he has been kept in isolation by separating the players of the rest of the team.

Difficult to play Aidan Markram

India and South Africa team have to play 5 T20 matches of the series within just 11 days. This series is to be played from June 9 to June 19. Aidan Markram will have to remain in isolation for 6 days after being found corona infected, so there is doubt about him playing in the series ahead.

The series was gifted to Corona in 2020

The Indian team first postponed its series against the South African team during the Corona period. In the year 2020, the Proteas team came on a tour of India and due to Corona’s hit, it was first decided to hold the match in an empty stadium but later the series was postponed due to increasing cases. The first match of the series could not be played in Dharamsala due to rain. The second match was to be played in Lucknow while the last ODI was to be played in Kolkata.
