Indian captain Rohit Sharma along with Mayank Agarwal got India off to a good start and the duo shared a 52-run partnership for the first wicket. However, this partnership broken by Lahiru Kumara by dismissing Rohit Sharma for 29 runs. Team India lost its second wicket in the form of Mayank Agarwal. Who dismissed leg before by Lasith Embuldeniya on the score of 33 runs.

Virat Kohli scored 45 runs in the first innings of his 100th Test match. And bowled by Ambuldeniya. Hanuma Vihari played an innings of 58 runs. And he dismissed by Vishwa Fernando. India’s 5th wicket fell in the form of Shreyas Iyer, who dismissed for 27 runs by de Silva. Rishabh Pant played a crucial innings of 96 runs and missed out on his fifth Test century by just 4 runs. Rishabh Pant’s innings ended with the delivery of Suranga Lakmal and he bowled by Pant.
