IND vs SL Series: The Selectors will talk to Rohit Virtually, Announce the Indian Team for The SL series, the Sri Lankan team will tour India after the T20 series against the WI. A series of 3 T20 and 2 Test matches will be played between the two teams (IND VS SL) on the tour.

The Chetan Sharma-led selection committee for the series against Sri Lanka will hold a virtual meeting with skipper Rohit Sharma today. Chetan Sharma is already present in Kolkata. He will be joined by his colleagues and captain Rohit Sharma.

The Information was given by the Selection committee:-

A member of the selection committee told InsideSport that we will have a selection meeting today. You can expect the team’s release today. He told us that we will release the Test captaincy today.

Kohli-Pant Rested

India vs SL Series: Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have been rested for the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. In such a situation, the big decision will be about the second wicketkeeper.

Ishan Kishan may have to keep wickets for three matches due to the absence of KL for the T20 series. But the discussion will be about the second wicketkeeper. Whereas KS India will be called for a two-match Test series starting from March 4 in Mohali.

Sanju Samson May Get an Opportunity:-

India vs SL Series: Sanju Samson’s name will be discussing as a possible backup. Apart from his consistent performance in IPL 2021, the Rajasthan Royals captain will be largely ignoring.

Now that he is fitting and has started his quarantine. He may be called in as a backup wicketkeeper for the Sri Lanka series. Ravindra Jadeja is all set to make a comeback for the T20s after recovering from an injury.

Big decisions will be taking in the selection meeting

Rohit Sharma can be officially making the Test captain. Decision on Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara for Test series. Verdict on the second wicketkeeper for the Sri Lanka T20 series. Both KS Bharat and Sanju Samson are in contention.

While the selectors and the BCCI sent a clear message to Test legends Ajinkya, Pujara, Ishant Sharma, and Wriddhiman Saha, the big decision will be on the two batsmen.

Though the selectors want to go ahead with Saha and Ishant, they are yet to take a clear stand on Ajinkya Rahane and Pujara. A section of selectors is in favor of giving the duo another chance, while the rest want to try Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer.
