Abhishek Tripathi, Mohali. One, two, three.. Not seven times Virat Kohli got out in net practice on Wednesday. In this he bowled six times and once the bowler hit him leg before. He will play his 100th Test against Sri Lanka at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Friday and expected to end a two-year-long century drought in the match. However, his form is indicating something else.

Team India has to practice on Thursday as well and Virat can get his confidence back by doing some good performances in that. Virat has scored 70 international centuries, but he has not scored any century in the last 70 international innings. The special thing is that only 70 players have been able to play 100 Tests so far.

Virat Kohli had trouble in practice

In Mohali all the focus was on Virat. Virat practiced two and Rohit practiced in three sessions. While the new Test captain seen in full touch, there was a problem in the footwork of the former captain. If we talk about Virat, then his day did not go anything special. Muhammad Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, Saurabh Kumar, Ravichandran Ashwin bowled him once each. He bowled twice by the left-arm spinner and once leg before. It a dream come true for this net bowler, but it was no less than a nightmare for Virat.

They have to bat well in the first Test against Sri Lanka if they want to end their two-year-long century drought. However, it is not that Virat did not hit good shots. He also hit good shots against the fast bowlers, throwdown specialist.

Lasit must be happy

Sri Lanka’s left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya must have been happy with the way Virat was getting upset in front of the left-arm spinner in the practice session. Lasith has good length and is a traditional left-arm spinner who drops the ball from a height which gives him bounce. He keeps the ball in the air for a long time and considered the future spinner of Sri Lanka after Rangana Herath.
