Jaiswal took his time to open his account in Test cricket, but he did not change his style. Jaiswal didn’t look back after hitting an uppercut on his 16th ball, Jaiswal hit 6 fours during his unbeaten 40. West Indies pacers Jason Holder and Kemar Roach, along with Jomel Warrican, held the position but the openers reduced the gap to 70 runs.

Captain Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 80 runs for the opening partnership

Yashasvi Jaiswal hardly showed any signs of nervousness during his innings. He played close to his body for most of the evening. With just over an hour left to bat, skipper Rohit Sharma (30 runs, 65 balls) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (40 runs, 73 balls) added 80 runs for the opening partnership.

Ashwin achieved 700 international wickets across all formats

Ashwin returned with figures of 5/60 to complete his 33rd five-wicket haul and his fourth against the West Indies. As a result, the hosts were bundled out in less than half an hour. By doing so, Ashwin joined the ranks of Anil Kumble (956) and Harbhajan Singh (711) as the third Indian spinner to claim 700 international wickets across all formats, marking a significant milestone in his career.
