IND vs WI Second ODI, Shreyas Iyer:
IND vs WI Second ODI: India registered a resounding victory against West Indies in the second ODI at the Queen’s Park Oval on Sunday. Overhaul for the hosts’ total of 311 runs, only two wickets and balls remaining. And in this Shreyas Iyer saw the lighter side of the pressure situation.
You have to stay fit and keep motivating yourself. My mindset is that I will do my work and try to control the controllable,” Iyer.
Shreyas admitted after the series-clinching win
“It was fun, to be honest,” Shreyas admitted after the series-clinching win. “We were all sitting together, and Rahul [Dravid] sir was getting very tensed. Sir (Rahul) was consistently passing on the message.

I (Iyer) think we did very well-
“I think a lot of the players showed really good feelings and were very calm even in pressure situations. And we’ve played so many matches recently, I think we’ve already seen all these things. It was just another game for us. I think we did very well. Akshar especially, the way he finished today. It was an excellent inning.”
Indian innings were frozen-
Shreyas scored 63 runs in 71 balls with his second half-century of the series. Which stabilized the Indian innings. When they reached 3 for 79 without any loss after scoring 48 runs. Indian No. 3 scored 99 runs. The partnership of runs for the fourth wicket with Sanju Samson laid the foundation of India’s run chase.

We built on the partnership and carried forward the momentum-
“It was a crucial partnership. We lost two back-to-back wickets. We were 60 for 3 (79/3), and from there, we had to rebuild. Sanju came in and obviously showed a lot of intent. Iyer was already batting. I had faced around 20 balls and was batting on 15. I knew what I was going to do, and Sanju at the same time, faced a few balls, and then he went after the spinners. He hit them for two sixes, and suddenly, the momentum shifted towards us. From there onwards, we built on the partnership and carried forward the momentum.”
Despite playing a useful hand in his team’s narrow win. Iyer isn’t pleased with the manner of his dismissal. He has so far scored 11 fifties and a hundred in 26 ODI innings.
