IND vs ZIM ODI 2022: Shikhar Dhawan said about playing in only one format, despite playing in only one format for the Indian team, opener Shikhar has no regrets and wants to continue his best performance in it.
Dhawan Promised himself before his 37th birthday:-
Dhawan, who led the team in the ODI format on the tour of West Indies in the absence of senior players, has promised himself before his 37th birthday that he will play as long as he is useful to the team.

Dhawan, after successfully leading the team in the ODI series in the West Indies, said in an exclusive interview with PTI – As long as I play for India, I will be useful to the team. I don’t like to be a burden on the team.
Shikhar scored 975 runs in 22 ODIs with the help of 10 half-centuries for India from the beginning of the year 2020 till the West Indies tour and this figure is the highest among Indian players.
When Dhawan was asked about these figures, he said, “I am a calm and mature person. This performance reflects my experience.
I have worked hard to improve my technique:-
He said- I have a very strong understanding of the game and I have worked very hard to improve my technique. Understanding a format is also very important. I understand the requirements of the ODI format and that has helped me a lot.
All over the world, when the popularity of the T20 format has increased significantly and there has been a decrease in the organization of the ODI series.
In such a situation, when asked about playing only one format, Dhawan said – I have never been disappointed about this. I don’t like to think about these things that I am playing in just one format at the international level.
Get a chance to Play in two or three months:-
He said- I look at it in a way that I get a chance to play in two or three months and it helps me stay fresh.
It is important for Dhawan to value what he has instead of gloating over what he doesn’t have.
He said- I am happy with what I get. For India, if I am playing in one format, I try to give my everything in that format. I am a positive thinking person. You will not find any negativity in me.
His fitness is getting better with age
IND vs ZIM ODI 2022: Shikhar Dhawan said that his fitness is getting better with age.
He said- I am 36 years old and much more fit than before. My skills have also improved. I have improved myself by doing a physical workout in the gym, yoga, and running.
Dhawan, who has scored around 6500 runs in 155 ODIs for the country, will now lead the Indian team on the Zimbabwe tour.

When asked about the leadership of the team, he said- As a captain, I believe in my bowlers and follow their plans first.
At the top level, everyone is a professional and everyone is aware of their responsibility. He said- If the bowlers’ plan doesn’t work, then obviously we have another plan.
