India ODI Series Record: India lost 5th Series at Home in 14 Years

New Delhi, Sports Desk. The Kangaroos won the three-match series between India and Australia 2-1. Australia beat India by 21 runs in the third and deciding match. Australia has won an ODI series in India after four years. At the same time, this is India’s second defeat in the last 10 ODI series.

India has Lost the Series at Home

It may be noted that in 2019, Australia defeated India 3-2 in the five-match series on their own land. Now they have won 2-1 in the three ODI series. India have lost their fifth ODI series at home since 2009. Three times Australia (2009, 2019, 2023), once South Africa (2015), once Pakistan (2012-13) have defeated India at home.

In 2020, India avenged the previous defeat by defeating Australia 2–1 in the three ODI series.

Broken Dream of Winning the third Series in a Row

In 2021 India beat England 2-1. 3-0 clean sweep over West Indies in 2022. And in 2022 itself, India defeated South Africa 2-1. In the beginning of the year 2023, India made a clean sweep over Sri Lanka 3-0. After this, in 2023 itself, India made a clean sweep of New Zealand 3-0 at home. However, in this series, Australia defeated India and broke the dream of winning the third consecutive series at home.
