India tour of New Zealand ODI Postponed

The upcoming India tour of New Zealand comprising of three ODIs as part of the ODI World Cup Super League has been postponed.

The postponement of the tour put down to the latest MIQ-

Kiwi cricket board struggles to host multiple teams for their home summer. The latest MIQ (Managed Immigration and Quarantine) allocation attributed to the postponement of the tour by the Kiwi government. India now will be touring the Kiwis in 2022 after the T20 World Cup. The T20 WC had scheduled to play in Australia.

An NZC spokesman confirmed India would not be touring this season as per the FTP and would fulfill those obligations later in 2022. After the next scheduled men’s Twenty20 World Cup in Australia in November.

Play two Test matches and T20I-

Meanwhile, the Kiwis are scheduled to tour India later this year after the T20 World Cup. They will play two Test matches and T20I during their stay in India. With Bangladesh and South Africa touring New Zealand in the near future. The New Zealand government has allocated MIQs for 35 personnel of the touring party from South Africa, Bangladesh, and The Netherlands. Besides them, 181 more have been allocated to the traveling teams for the Women’s World Cup.

India captain Virat Kohli and star batsman KL Rahul maintained their fourth and sixth place respectively among the batsmen, While no Indian bowler featured in the top-10 in the ICC T20 rankings.

The top seven batsmen led by England’s Dawid Malan maintained their rankings. South African keeper-batter Quinton de Kock is now ranked eighth. But West Indies Evin Lewis drops a place to be ninth in the list.

India’s top-ranked bowler in the list is veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar at 12th while Injured off-spinner Washington Sundar is the other in the top-20 at 18th place.
