The Indian women’s cricket team’s dream of winning the T20 World Cup shattered once again. In the first semi-final match of the T20 World Cup played in South Africa. India was defeated by Australia by 5 runs and out of the tournament. In this match, right-handed wicket-keeper batsman Richa Ghosh scored 14 runs in 17 balls which included one four. Richa hit this four brilliantly while playing an inside out shot. Seeing which the ICC along with the fans also remembered Virat Kohli. ICC has shared a video on social media comparing this shot of Richa with the inside out shot played by Kohli in T20 World Cup 2022.

India got defeated in a thrilling match

In this match played between India and Australia, the Kangaroo team won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, the Kangaroo team got off to a good start. Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy (25) added 52 runs for the first wicket. Mooney played a brilliant half-century innings of 54 runs in 37 balls. With the help of Meg Lanning (49*) and Ashley Gardner (31), Australia scored 172/4 after playing the entire over.

In response, the start of the Indian team was very poor. The team had lost the wickets of its 3 key batsmen till the score of 28. From here on, captain Harmanpreet Kaur (34 balls, 52 runs) and Jemima Rodrigues (24 balls, 43 runs) kept the hopes of victory alive. But after the dismissal of both the batsmen, Team India lost 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Khokar was able to score only 167 runs and Australia won the match by 5 runs.
