The Indian Women’s Under-19 team created history in the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup being played in South Africa. Defeated New Zealand in the semi-finals of the first T20 World Cup and made it to the finals. India became the first country to do so.

Parshvi Chopra broke New Zealand’s back –

Indian captain Shafali Verma won the toss and decided to bowl first. This decision of Shefali proved correct on the third ball of the second over. Mannat Kashyap made Anna Browning of New Zealand his victim. Ima McLeod also could not do anything special. She became the victim of Titas Sadhu on a personal score of 2 runs.

Indian Under-19 women’s team made it to the finals by defeating New Zealand by a huge margin

Georgia Plummer made some struggle by scoring 35 and Easy Gauge 26, but both could not reach the team to a big score. After the dismissal of these two, New Zealand could only manage 107 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Parshvi Chopra took 3 wickets for India. Titas Sadhu, Mannat, Captain Shefali and Archana got one wicket each.

Shweta scored an unbeaten half-century against New Zealand –

Chasing a target of 108, the Indian women’s under-19 team got off to a brisk start. Captain Shefali Verma and Shweta Sehrawat started attacking from the very first over. However, in the wake of fast runs, Shefali handed over her wicket to Anna Browning on a personal score of 10 runs.

Shweta holds one end and brings up her half-century. Shweta played an unbeaten inning of 61 runs off 45 balls. At the same time, Soumya Tiwari contributed 22 runs. G Trisha remained unbeaten after scoring 5 runs. India defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets in the first semi-final match. With this win, the Indian Under-19 team entered the final of the T20 World Cup.
