BPL 2023, Unmukt Chand: Unmukt Chand, who won India the 2012 Under-19 World Cup, can be seen playing in the next season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Currently based in USA, Unmukt has sent his name for the auction for the upcoming season.
If a team selects him, then he can be seen playing in BPL. The player has completely retired from Indian cricket and will be eligible to play for the USA in 2024.
In the Indian setup, Unmukt Chand did not get a chance to play in outside leagues :-
When Unmukt Chand was part of the Indian setup, he was not allowed to play in outside leagues. This was because BCCI does not allow its players to play in any league other than IPL before retirement. However, after leaving Indian cricket, Chand was seen playing in the previous edition of the Big Bash League (BBL). He was a part of the Melbourne Renegades.
Unmukt described BPL as one of the best leagues :-
The former Indian captain said that he wants to take part in BPL 2023 and described the league as one of the best. BD Cricktime quoted Chand as saying,
” I have played in Dhaka before and thoroughly enjoyed it. After coming to USA, I have a chance to play in any league around the world. Last year I played in the Big Bash League. Now, I am looking forward to play in Bangladesh Premier League no matter which team I play. I know about the playing conditions in Bangladesh. I am always amazed by BPL and it is one of the biggest league in the world. Many big players have participated in the tournament in the past. There is no doubt that it is one of the top tournaments in the world.”
Let us tell you that Unmukt has spent a lot of time in Bangladesh even before this. He has played three seasons in Dhaka Premier League and has good experience of playing here.
