Kolkata Knight Riders opener Shubman Gill was battling an injury for some time. Gill, who was injured on the England tour, could not play a single match of the Test series, but now he is fully fit. In this match, Gill batted brilliantly and made a half-century in the rest of the teams. Although Shubman missed out on scoring a century, his innings were brilliant.

Eoin Morgan’s team Kolkata Knight Riders won only two matches out of 7 in the first leg of the IPL, leaving KKR at number seven on the points table.
