Rajasthan Royals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 24 runs in the 63rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) to finish second in the points table. After this victory, another good news has come out for the team. The team’s star finisher Shimron Hetmyer has reunited with his team. He was not present with the team in the last two matches. But before the last match of the league, the news of his rejoining with his own team has come to the fore.

Rajasthan Royals' Shimron Hetmyer leaves IPL 2022 for the birth of his child

According to media reports, Rajasthan Royals batsman Shimron Hetmyer has again joined the team. He is likely to be available for the team’s final league match against Chennai Super Kings on Friday. Let us tell you that West Indies batsman Hetmyer had gone to Guyana for the birth of his first child (son). This was the reason why he could not play in the match against Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants.

A source in the Indian Premier League (IPL) told PTI that,

“Hetmyer is back and in quarantine.” Royals are second in the points table after Sunday’s win over Lucknow. They’re last in the league stage. The match will take place against the 9th-placed Chennai Super Kings on May 20. If the team wins this match, it will be decided to go to the playoffs, and also the second or third place will also be confirmed in the table so Big news for Rajasthan.

Hetmyer’s performance in IPL 2022

It is worth noting that Rajasthan Royals had bought 25-year-old Shimron Hetmyer in a mega auction for Rs 8.5 crore. He has done exceptionally well this season so far. He has returned unbeaten seven times out of 11 matches. He has ended the innings brilliantly for the team on most of occasions. In 11 matches, he has scored 291 runs at a strike rate of 166.29 and an average of 72.75. It also included a half-century and his highest score was 59 not out.
