IPL 2022: Hardik Pandya established himself as India’s best modern all-rounder, who has left behind MS Dhoni in terms of winning the title. Pandya helped GT win their first title on debut.

  • Pandya, who won the trophy four times with Mumbai (2015, 2017, 2019, 2020),
  • Hardik Pandya also equaled Anil Kumble and Rohit Sharma in the final, bagging the man of the match award.
  • He became the third IPL captain to receive the MOM award in an IPL final. Kumble took 4 for 16 for RCB against Deccan Chargers in 2009 final while Rohit won the award after his 26-run half-century for Mumbai Indians against CSK in 2015 final.
  • The 28-year-old also became the third captain to lift the IPL trophy in his first captaincy season. Shane Warne had achieved the feat for the first time for Rajasthan in 2008, while Rohit achieved the feat for Mumbai Indians in 2013.

After the Titans beat Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Pandya said, “Absolutely, for India to win the World Cup, no matter what happens. I’m going to give it everything. I have always been the kind of guy to put the team first. The goal for me will be simple: to make sure my team gets the most of it.”
