IPL 2022 franchise in Lucknow, owned by RPSG Group. These were named Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction. Team owner Sanjeev Goenka made this announcement on Monday.

Sanjeev Goenka announces the name of the new IPL Lucknow franchise as Lucknow Super Giants.

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants had announced its three draft picks ahead of the IPL 2022 season which will feature as many as 10 teams. Owned by RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, the Lucknow team picked KL Rahul as their captain and also roped in Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi.

Sanjiv Goenka, the chairperson of the RPSG Group, announced the 3 new signings on Friday after India’s ODI series defeat to South Africa in Paarl. Lucknow picks KL Rahul for Rs 17 crore while Marcus Stoinis picks for Rs 9.2 crore. On the other hand, former Punjab Kings bowler Ravi Bishnoi picks for Rs 4 crore.
