New Delhi, Online Desk. In the 15th season of the Indian Premier League, KL Rahul explosive game continues to captain the new team Lucknow Super Giants. Playing against Mumbai Indians on Saturday, this player scored a century while playing a strong innings. In his 100th IPL match, he changed the history of the tournament by scoring a century. Thanks to this strong inning of the captain, Lucknow scored 199 runs for 4 wickets.

Lucknow captain Rahul played a brilliant century against Mumbai at the Brabourne Stadium. He became the second batsman to score a century in IPL season 15. The first century was scored by Jos Buttler of Rajasthan against Mumbai itself. This is Rahul’s third century in IPL history. Earlier, he had scored centuries in 2019 and 2020.

Rahul completed his fifty in 33 balls in which he hit 3 fours and 3 sixes. It was his seventh over fifty in the last 10 innings that came off his bat against Mumbai. Rahul’s bat did not stop here and scored a century in 56 balls, scoring 9 fours and 5 sixes. He played an innings of 103 runs off 60 balls and returned unbeaten.

Rahul created history, broke Sachin and Sehwag’s record

Rahul has become the first batsman in IPL history to score a century in the 100th IPL match. No player has done this feat till now. Rahul broke Du Plessis’ record by scoring the highest score in his 100th IPL. The highest score in the 100th match was recorded in the name of Faf du Plessis, who scored 87 runs. Rahul has now scored two centuries as captain and has overtaken Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag in doing so. Both had a century each to their name.
