IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants got a big setback, star fast bowler out of the team

Jasan, Lucknow. The team of Lucknow Supergiants, going to play in IPL for the first time, has suffered a setback. Team member and England pacer Mark Wood has been ruled out of IPL 2022 due to a right elbow injury. He was bought by the team of Lucknow in the mega auction at a huge price of 7.50 crores. IPL-2022 is to start from 26th March. Lucknow Supergiants posted photos of team coach Andy Flower and captain KL Rahul, writing that Wood’s shortfall will be filled soon. Currently England team is playing test match with West Indies.

Mark Wood suffered an injury on the third day of the first Test against West Indies

Mark Wood was injured on the third day of the first Test against the West Indies, due to which he was able to bowl only five overs in the first innings. He did not even take the field in the second innings. Since then it was being speculated that the injury was more serious. Now scans have confirmed that he has a problem with his elbow and he will return to England next week. The England Cricket Board also confirmed the news by tweeting that Wood has been ruled out of the third Test against West Indies and the upcoming IPL. For the time being, he was advised to stay away from cricket till further notice. His injury will be monitored by a team of experts.

Newly-appointed captain of Lucknow Super Giants, Rahul says the last few months in Bio-Bubble have been very difficult for him

New Delhi, IAS. Indian cricket team vice-captain Lokesh Rahul said that initially he wanted to stay away from bio-bubbles (safe environment created to protect against corona). But now he has got used to it. Rahul, who is the newly appointed captain of Lucknow Super Giants, said that the last few months in Bio-Bubble have been very difficult for him. As it is very difficult to regularly meet family and friends while in Bio-Bubble. The 29-year-old said that the life of cricketers has been very difficult since the onset of Covid-19 as they have to live inside the bio-bubble. He said, ‘I kept pushing myself like this, but the last few months were very difficult. Shreyas and I were talking about how living in a bio-bubble is becoming more and more difficult. Especially when your families are away from you.’
