A senior BCCI official told PTI, “Suryakumar Yadav is currently rehabbing at the National Cricket Academy, Bangalore. He is on the verge of recovering from an injury. But it is difficult to say right now that he will play the first match of IPL 2022. It is possible that the medical staff of the board may ask him to stay away from the opening match of the tournament.

Suryakumar can play the second match on April 2

Mumbai Indians have to play their second match in IPL 2022 against Rajasthan Royals on April 2. Suryakumar is expected to play in the second match. Sources said, “By then Suryakumar will be fully fit and ready to play.” Suryakumar Yadav was one of the four players retained by Mumbai Indians.
