Surprisingly, he did not name Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, David Warner or Suresh Raina. De Villiers has described Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan as the best player in T20 history.

Rashid Khan’s name shone a lot with the Indian Premier League (IPL). He dominated the shortest format of cricket at the international level. He is counted among the best players. Rashid is playing for Gujarat Titans after playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. He played a key role in making the franchise the champion last year.

What did AB de Villiers Say About Rashid?

AB de Villiers picked Rashid Khan over his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammates Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle. He called Rashid the man-winner. He said in a conversation with Supersport, “For me, the best player in T20 so far is none other than Rashid Khan. He performs brilliantly with bat and ball. Rashid is a match winner in both the departments. Always want to win. He is very competitive and not just one of the best T20 players but the best.

Rashid Was Selected by Gujarat through Draft

Rashid played 19 matches in the last season of IPL. During this, he took 19 wickets in his name. He took 93 wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad from 2017 to 2021. Gujarat did not include him in the auction last time, but only through the draft. Apart from him, Gujarat also selected captain Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill.
