New Delhi, Sports Desk. Mumbai Indians on Thursday announced that Riley Meredith has been included in the squad in place of injured Jhye Richardson. Mumbai Indians have brought in Riley Meredith for Rs 1.5 crore. Riley Meredith has previously represented Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Recently Mumbai Indians included Sandeep Warrier in place of Jasprit Bumrah.

Jhye Richardson suffered a hamstring injury and the Australian bowler had to undergo surgery. Mumbai Indians had issued a release saying, ‘Jhai Richardson is suffering from a hamstring injury and has been ruled out of the 16th edition of the IPL. He joined Mumbai Indians for Rs 1.5 crore. Australian fast bowler Riley Meredith joined Mumbai Indians for Rs 1.5 crore. Meredith represented Mumbai Indians last year and took 8 wickets in 8 matches.
Riley Meredith has Played a total of 13 Matches in the IPL so Far
Riley Meredith will join the franchise ahead of Mumbai Indians’ next match against Chennai Super Kings. The 26-year-old Meredith has played one ODI and 5 T20 Internationals for Australia so far. Meredith did not get any wicket in ODIs. But he has taken 8 wickets in T20 International career. On the other hand, Riley Meredith has played a total of 13 matches in the IPL so far. During this he took 12 wickets.
