According to ESPNcricinfo, the IPL said in an internal note that it listed various changes to the laws of the game. One of these is that the franchisees will be allowed to choose their best playing XI. Teams can change their playing XI whether they are batting or bowling. Let us tell you that after the toss, this rule of teams announcing their XI was made in SA20 League. Like SA20, now this rule will be implemented in IPL as well. The teams in the SA20 league put 13 names on the team sheet before announcing their playing XI after the toss. SA20 tournament director Graeme Smith then said that the move was designed to “reduce the impact of the toss” and allow a level playing field depending on the circumstances.
