A surprising incident happened during the match played between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad (LSG vs SRH). During this match, the fans of Hyderabad attacked the players of the visiting team Lucknow Super Giants with nuts and bolts. And due to this the game was stopped for some time. However, later Lucknow’s fielding coach Jonty Rhodes revealed that his team’s youngster Prerak Mankad was hit on the head with nuts and bolts. Nothing was thrown towards the dugout.

Actually, this incident started after the third ball of the 19th over. Abdul Samad took a single off Avesh Khan’s full toss ball. It was a dangerous ball for the batsman and the umpire called it a no-ball. Lucknow captain Krunal Pandya took a review against this no-ball, after which the third umpire overturned the on-field umpire’s decision. He didn’t give a no-ball. Abdul Samad was not happy with this. He complained about this to the leg umpire. Reportedly, some fans were incensed at the injustice meted out to the home team and expressed their anger by hurling nuts and bolts at the players sitting in the LSG dugout.

Crowd Hits Prerak Mankad on the Head – Jonty Rhodes

However, Jonty Rhodes, the fielding coach of Lucknow Super Giants, said that the attack was not on the dugout of LSG but on the head of Prerak Mankad, who was fielding at Long On. He said in a tweet,

The attack was not on the dugout but on the players. When Prerak Mankad was fielding at long on, he hit him on the head.
