IPL 2023: All the teams have started preparations for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. All the franchises will have to submit the written list of their players to the BCCI by November 15. The mini auction for IPL 2023 is likely to be held in December.

However, before that the franchises will be seen swapping players through the trading window. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings franchise is going to come with some new faces and captains this time in view of the poor performance of the last few seasons.

Punjab Kings appointed Trevor Bayliss as their new head coach before the next season. The team has also changed the captain. Mayank has been replaced by Shikhar Dhawan as the new captain of the team.

IPL 2023: Shikhar Dhawan has been given the command of the team :-

Punjab Kings’ performance in the IPL has been disappointing and due to this the management is going to arrive in the upcoming season with many changes. According to a report in Cricbuzz, Punjab Kings are likely not to retain Mayank Agarwal, Shah Rukh Khan and Odeon Smith for the next edition of the tournament.

Mayank has also been removed from the captaincy earlier. Shikhar Dhawan has been given the command of the team in his place. However, the newly appointed head coach Trevor Bayliss is believed to be behind this change.

Stokes, Sam Curran and Cameron Green are keen to play in IPL 2023 :-

According to a report in Cricbuzz, England’s Test captain Ben Stokes, left-arm pacer Sam Curran and Cameron Green are keen to feature in the 16th edition of the league. Stokes had been out of the auction last year, while Sam missed out due to injury.

Team ready to leave Mayank Agarwal, Odeon Smith and Shahrukh Khan :-

The report said that Punjab Kings are eyeing two of these three all-rounders and for this they will need a bigger purse as they will be in huge demand.

Kings are set to drop their last year’s captain Mayank Agarwal (12 crore), Tamil Nadu batsman Shah Rukh Khan (9 crore) and West Indies all-rounder Odeon Smith (6 crore). Due to which more amount will be left in the purse of the team.
