IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians Beat Kolkata by 5 Wickets on the Basis of Surya-Kishan, Second Win in the Tournament

MI vs KKR, Match Highlights: In the IPL 2023 match played on Sunday (April 16), Mumbai Indians defeated KKR by one wicket. Suryakumar Yadav, captaining the Mumbai team in this match, won the toss and invited KKR to bat first. KKR scored 185 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs thanks to opener Venkatesh Iyer’s century innings of 104 runs. Chasing the target of 186 runs from KKR, the Mumbai team won the match by scoring 186 runs in 17.4 overs with 5 wickets in hand.

Kishan-Surya Shines in Victory

Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan of Mumbai Indians scored the most runs for the team. Kishan, who came to open, gave a fast start to the team. However, he fell victim to mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty after scoring 58 runs in 25 balls. His innings included 5 fours and 5 sixes. Apart from this, Suryakumar Yadav also played an inning of 43 runs in 25 balls. Tilak Verma also scored 30 runs, while Rohit Sharma, who came to bat as an impact player, also added 20 runs. Tim David (24) while Cameron Green (1) returned unbeaten after scoring runs.
