Before the start of the upcoming season of IPL, there has been a big change in the team of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Former New Zealand all-rounder James Franklin will replace Dale Steyn as the bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024.

IPL 2024: James Franklin ‘s first stint in IPL as a coach :-

According to reports, South African fast bowler Dale Steyn, who will join Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022, has informed the management about his decision to leave IPL 2024. There has been no official statement from the franchise yet. This will be Franklin’s first IPL stint as a coach.

James Franklin played for Mumbai Indians in 2011 and 2012 :-

James Franklin played for Mumbai Indians in 2011 and 2012. He will be seen coaching in IPL for the first time. At Sunrisers Hyderabad, he will work with Daniel Vettori, who was appointed head coach by the franchise in the 2023 season. The pair have previously worked together for both Middlesex (county cricket) and Birmingham Phoenix (The Hundred). Franklin also served as the head coach at Durham and is currently the assistant coach at Islamabad United in the PSL.

Sunrisers have a number of fast bowlers including Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Pat Cummins, Marco Johnson, Umran Malik, T Natarajan, Fazalhaq Farooqui, Jaydev Unadkat and uncapped Indian Akash Singh. The spinners include Wanindu Hasaranga, Washington Sundar and Shahbaz Ahmed.
