IPL Auction 2022: Tim David was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 8.25 crore, Singapore all-rounder Tim David was bought by Mumbai Indians (MI) for Rs 8.25 crore on the second day of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction in Bengaluru on Sunday.
A Quick Auction Part:-
The cricketer was part of an accelerated auction at a base price of ₹40 lakh. Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) put in early bids as David’s price crossed Rs 1 crore.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) also got involved as the bidding moved towards Rs 5 crore. Once Mi arrived, it seemed that they had made up their mind to pick him up.
The New Teams Made No Further Bids:-
They went up to ₹8.25 crore and bought the 25-year-old as no further bids were made by the other teams.
Tim David was selected by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as the replacement for Finn Allen in IPL 2021. However, he was featured in only one match. The all-rounder had earlier gone unsold in the auction at a base price of ₹20 lakh.
Tim David’s T20 Credentials:-
Known as a hard-hitting batsman and a useful off-spinner, Tim David has featured in 14 T20Is for Singapore and scored 558 runs at an average of 46.5 and an excellent strike rate of 158.52. He has also taken five wickets.
He is an accomplished T20 cricketer, having participated in the Big Bash League, Pakistan Super League, Hundred and Vitality T20 Blast as well as the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

David, who made his T20 debut in 2018, has been a part of 85 matches in which he has scored 1908 runs at an average of 34.69 and strike rate of 159.39. He also has seven wickets to his name in these matches.
