New Delhi. The 30th match of IPL 2023 was very exciting. Gujarat Titans defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 7 runs at their home ground. In this match, Lucknow Super Giants got a target of 136 runs. Chasing this, at one time Lucknow’s score was 106 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in 15 overs. But, in the next 5 overs, the team could not score the required 30 runs to win. Hero of Gujarat’s victory was fast bowler Mohit Sharma. He bowled an amazing last over. After all, Lucknow needed 12 runs in 6 balls to win. But, Mohit Sharma allowed only 4 runs to be scored.

Mohit Sharma took two wickets in two consecutive balls in his last over. He first dismissed the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, KL Rahul. KL Rahul could not understand the slower ball of this Gujarat fast bowler and got caught out while playing a big shot towards the midwicket. KL Rahul scored 68 runs in 61 balls. As soon as KL Rahul was dismissed, Mohit Sharma tightened the noose on the Lucknow team. On the very next ball, he got Marcus Stoinis caught out at long on. Stoinis became a golden duck.
Mohit Gave Away 4 Runs in the last Over
Mohit could not take the hat-trick. But, the team definitely completed the hat-trick on the next ball. Actually, Mohit’s third ball was a yorker. On this, Deepak Hooda shot in front and ran for two runs. But, Ayush Badoni could not complete the second run and was run out by Mohit Sharma at the non-striker’s end. Deepak Hooda himself got run out on the next ball. In this way Gujarat Titans won the match by 7 runs.

Took 2 Wickets in 2 Consecutive Balls
This IPL was a comeback for Mohit Sharma. He was the net bowler of Gujarat Titans last year. While Mohit won the Purple Cap in 2014 and also played the semi-finals of the 2015 World Cup. However, in spite of this he accepted to become a net bowler and this year Gujarat bought him for Rs 50 lakhs and he bowled amazingly in the debut IPL match against Gujarat. Mohit took 2 for 18 against Punjab Kings and was adjudged player of the match and now against Lucknow Super Giants he took 2 for 17 in 3 overs.
Left IPL Due to Father’s Demise
Please tell that Mohit Sharma had left IPL 2020 in the middle due to the death of his father. After this, he did not get a chance to play in 2021 and 2022. Last year, this bowler was not even bought by anyone and was associated with Gujarat as a net bowler. But, got a chance this year and Dhoni’s favorite player proved how effective he is in the death overs.
