In the first match of the tournament, defending champions Gujarat Titans will take on four-time champions Chennai Super Kings. This match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In the very first match, young captain Hardik Pandya will be in front of veteran captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni has made Chennai the champion four times under his captaincy. At the same time, Hardik made Gujarat the champion last year while captaining for the first time. The opening ceremony will be held before the match. During this, many Bollywood stars will add a dash of glamour. IPL has confirmed that singer Arijit Singh and actress Tamannaah Bhatia will be seen at the event.

The IPL tweeted on Wednesday (March 29) informing about Tamannaah Bhatia’s participation in the opening ceremony. IPL wrote, “Join Tamannaah at the Tata IPL opening ceremony. We are celebrating the biggest cricket festival in the world’s largest cricket stadium – Narendra Modi Stadium.”

The IPL also informed that the opening ceremony will be held on March 31 at 6 pm. After that there will be toss at seven o’clock and then the first match will be played from 7:30 o’clock. The opening ceremony and matches will be telecast live on Star Sports India. At the same time, online live streaming will be on Jio Cinema app and website.

According to media reports, Bollywood actresses Katrina Kaif, Rashmika Mandanna and actor Tiger Shroff can also be seen at the ceremony. The names of these three have not been officially confirmed yet. Earlier, actresses Kriti Sanon, Kiara Advani and pop singer AP Dhillon performed at the opening ceremony of the Women’s Premier League.
