Kingston, Jan 14 (AP) Ireland beat West Indies by five wickets in the rain-hit second one-day match at Sabina Park. Ireland needed 230 to win and scored 157 for four in 32 overs when the game halted for 90 minutes due to rain. On the resumption of the game, Ireland got a target of 168 runs in 36 overs based on the Duckworth-Lewis method. Ireland made the remaining runs in seven balls for the loss of one wicket. Ireland got the target of 168 runs in 36 overs

On the resumption of the game, It got a target of 168 runs in 36 overs based on the Duckworth-Lewis method. Ireland made the remaining runs in seven balls for the loss of one wicket.

Now Series 1. 1 and the last match will be here on Sunday.

The match earlier scheduled to take place on Tuesday but Ireland did not have a full XI due to five corona cases and two players getting injured. Captain Andy Balbirnie also could not play this match on Thursday.

Giving Ireland a good start, scored 37 runs in the first five overs

William Porterfield and stand-in captain Paul Stirling gave It’s a good start with 37 runs in the first five overs. Harry Tector played an unbeaten 54 off 75 balls, which is his second consecutive half-century.

The West Indies team, sent to bat first, had a poor start. Medium pacer Craig Young dismissed the first three batsmen cheaply. West Indies’ score was three for 12 in four overs. McBrian then dismissed Kieron Pollard and Roston Chase cheaply.
