Ireland’s legendary all-rounder Kevin O’Brien has announced his retirement from ODI cricket. O’Brien, who made his international debut in July 2006, made 3619 runs and took 114 wickets in ODI cricket. This 37-year-old explosive batsman held the record for the fastest century in the World Cup against England during the 2011 World Cup, which still stands.

Scored a century in 50 balls

Kevin O’Brien holds the record for the fastest century in the history of the World Cup. He scored 113 runs in 63 balls with the help of 13 fours and 6 sixes in the match against England played at MA Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in 2011. During this, he completed his century in just 50 balls. In this match, Kevin had single-handedly won the lost bet for his team.

Such has been the international career Kevin has played three Tests, 152 ODIs, and 95 T20 International matches so far. He has retired from ODI cricket but will continue to play T20 cricket for Ireland. He has 3619 runs and 114 wickets in 152 ODI matches. At the same time, in 95 T20 International matches, Kevin has scored 1672 runs, which also includes a century. Along with this, Kevin also has 58 wickets in T20 Internationals.
