In the first semi-final match of the Road Safety T20 World Series, India Legends defeated Australia Legends by 5 wickets to reach the final. Irfan Pathan took India to the final while raining sixes. Batting first, Australia Legends posted a score of 171-5, which India Legends achieved with 4 balls to spare for the loss of 5 wickets.

Australia Legends started playing today ahead of yesterday’s score of 136-5. Cameron White and Brad Haddin (12* runs in 8 balls, a six) added 35 runs without losing any wickets to take the team’s score past 170. White (30* off 18 balls, one four and two sixes) hit a four and a six in the last over as Australia posted a score of 171-5.

Chasing 172 runs, India Legends got off to a good start by Naman Ojha. At the other end, of course, Sachin Tendulkar (10 runs in 11 balls) and Suresh Raina (11 runs in 8 balls) could not contribute much. Ojha and Yuvraj Singh (18 runs in 15 balls, two fours) put up a crucial 61-run partnership to put the team in a strong position. Ojha’s contribution was more in this partnership. However, after Yuvraj’s dismissal, Stuart Binny (2 runs in 6 balls) and Yusuf Pathan (one run in 2 balls) also proved to be flops.

Irfan Pathan hit three sixes in the first three balls and then hit a six off the second ball of the last over to give India Legends a 5-wicket victory and lead the team to the final.
