Jacqueline Williams becomes West Indies’ first female umpire

WI vs ENG: Jacqueline Williams holds the record for umpiring in a T20 International match played between two men’s teams. With this, she has become the first female umpire of the West Indies to do so. Williams umpired in the second T20 match between West Indies and England played in Grenada.

Jacqueline Williams looked happy after umpiring

The 47-year-old was accompanied by Gregory Brathwaite, television umpire Leslie Reifer Jr., and Patrick Gustard, who was the fourth umpire. Speaking before the match, Williams said it was a dream come true for her, adding that she felt honored to have the opportunity.

Jacqueline Williams Statement –

“This is a dream come true,” said Jacqueline Williams. It’s a good feeling to be first, but I hope I won’t be the last. I’m honored to have this amazing opportunity and I want to make sure I give my best performance when I take the field on Thursday. This will be a testament to my work given what I have done so far in my career.”
