Alam not selected in the main team

Bangladesh played three matches against Zimbabwe and three in the Women’s Cricket World Cup qualifiers. Alam’s performance was not bad. I was even more surprised when she was not selected in the main team for the CWG qualifiers.

Speaking about the letter– Alam has alleged that national selector Manjurul Islam and select members of the team management are “partisan”. The letter also mentioned several incidents within the team.

On the other hand, the team management has said that there is a division within the players, groups are forming.

The dispute between Alam and the management has come at the very wrong time. With the Commonwealth Games qualifiers starting later this month. This is followed by the World Cup in New Zealand in March, Bangladesh’s first appearance.

Despite all this, a BCB official has said that she remains an important member of Bangladesh’s plans. “We have decided to drop him as we wanted to send a message to everyone. But that doesn’t mean everything is going for him. As he is very much in our World Cup planning,” the official said.
