New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson has decided to skip three T20 Internationals against India to focus on the upcoming Test series.

Jamieson is joined by his captain Kane Williamson, who has decided to miss the T20Is, to prepare for the two-match Test series starting in Kanpur from November 25.

“We have discussed with Kane and Kyle to decide that they will not play in this T20 series,” Stuff. co.NZ quoted coach Gary Stead as saying. “They’re both going to be ready for Test matches. And I think you’ll find that there will be other guys involved in Test matches who won’t even play the whole series.

“It’s a bit of a balancing act at the moment and it’s a very busy time with three T20 matches in five days as well as traveling to three different cities.”

New Zealand, who lost the T20 World Cup final on Sunday, arrived in India the next morning. And little time to get use to it, Stead and Williamson believe it is not ideal.

“This is the first time I can remember that we have reached another series so early. Immediately after the T20 World Cup,” Stead said. “It is certainly difficult and challenging but it is what lies ahead of us.”

Ahead of the Test series starting November 23, the T20 opener in Jaipur on Wednesday. And followed by matches in Ranchi and Kolkata on Friday and Sunday respectively.
