Jason Holder Named in West Indies Squad Due to Injury to Obed McCoy

West Indies have included Jason Holder in their T20 World Cup squad in place of left-arm pacer Obed McCoy due to injury.

McCoy, who played in West Indies’ earlier match against England. Has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament due to a right calf injury. The ICC has approved the inclusion of former captain all-rounder Holder. He was already in the UAE as a traveling reserve and will be available for West Indies’ next match against Bangladesh on Friday.

McCoy did Really well in T20Is Earlier this Year but he has Now been Replaced by Jason in the T20 World Cup Squad due to an Injury

“McCoy did really well in T20Is earlier this year and adapted well in the opening match against England. But he has now been replaced by Jason Holder in the T20 World Cup squad due to his injury. He was a key member of the unit and it is unfortunate. That he will not be able to take any further part in the tournament. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him on the field again in the near future.”

Defending champions West Indies have lost their first two games. And is already facing a struggle to reach the semi-finals. He was dismissed for 55 in a six-wicket loss against England. Then lost against South Africa by eight wickets.
