Jasprit Bumrah gets No.1 crown after brilliant performance against England in Visakhapatnam

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has created history on Wednesday, 7 February. In fact, 30-year-old Jasprit Bumrah, who gave a top class performance in the second Test against England and took 9 wickets, has become the first Indian fast bowler to be crowned number 1 in Test ranking.

Great performance against England yielded results for Jasprit Bumrah :-

This performance against England helped him overtake Australia captain Pat Cummins, South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and India’s Ravichandran Ashwin. Earlier, three Indians have achieved number 1 rank in Tests which are Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Bishan Singh Bedi but all three are spinners.

At present, Jasprit Bumrah is at the top in Tests with a rating of 881, while Kagiso Rabada of South Africa is at second place with a rating of 851. The third place is acquired by another Indian bowler Ravichandran Ashwin who has 841 rating points, while at the fourth place is Australian captain Pat Cummins with a rating of 828. At fifth position is another Australian bowler Josh Halywood with a rating of 818.
