Jemima Rodrigues said after India won a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games, the team created history by winning its maiden silver medal at the Edgbaston Stadium in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham on Sunday.
Harmanpreet Kaur played brave innings of 65 runs:-
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur hit a valiant 65 but was unable to save India from the hands of defeat as Australia won the match by nine runs to clinch the Commonwealth Games 2022 title.

India were bundled out for 152 and had to be content with a silver medal in their maiden Commonwealth Games campaign.
Harmanpreet Kaur scored 65 runs for India, while Jemima Rodrigues played brilliant innings of 33 runs. For Australia, Ashleigh Gardner took three wickets while Megan Schutt took two wickets.
She made her star opener Smriti Mandhana:-
Chasing 162 for the gold medal, India got off to a poor start as they lost their star openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma within five overs.
Openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, who were in good stead to get into the final, could score 6 and 11 respectively, leaving India struggling at 22/2.
Jemimah Rodrigues tries to open the innings with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur. Running well between the two wickets, he kept on scoring runs.
Harmanpreet dismissed Darcy Brown for 14 in the sixth over of the innings. The pair continued to play big shots after scoring runs for their team. After the powerplay, India’s score was 42/2.
King welcomed with a four at deep mid-wicket:-
Harmanpreet welcomes bowler Alana King with a four-over deep mid-wicket. Harmanpreet completed his fifty in 34 balls.
While patting the Australian bowlers around the field. The pair took their team’s score beyond 100 runs in 14 overs, hitting sixes and fours.

Megan Schutt gave her team the much-needed breakthrough as she dismissed Jemima Rodrigues for 33. Rodrigues’ wicket invites Pooja Vastrakar to the crease.
Vastrakar could not do much and returned to the pavilion after scoring just one run. Harmanpreet chased Vastrakar into the hut shortly after as she was dismissed for 65 by Ashleigh Gardner.
