Joburg Super Kings have named former Proteas all-rounder Albie Morkel as their assistant coach.

The Super Kings will be captained by Faf du Plessis, with former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming as the head coach.

Morkel, who played for the Super Kings franchise in the IPL, earned a reputation in the cricketing world as a combative hitter and easy bowler.
They played a single test match for South Africa:-
The 41-year-old played a single Test match for South Africa but was a regular in the shorter format of the game.
Morkel played 58 ODIs for the Proteas, scoring 782 runs at an average of 23.69 and a strike rate of 100.25, while also taking 50 wickets.
He represented South Africa on 50 occasions:-
In the T20 format, he represented South Africa on 50 occasions, scoring 572 runs at an impressive strike rate of 142.28 and taking 26 wickets.
While the player auction for SA20 takes place in September, Super Kings have announced several players.
