The dhamal of IPL 2023 is going to start from 31st March. The inaugural match will be played between last year’s Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. The first match will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Kane Williamson, who joined the team on Wednesday before the match, took part in the press conference.

Praising Hardik Pandya, Kane Williamson said –

“Hardik works hard. He has amazing energy. Pandya has been leading the Indian T20 team for the last few years. Excited to play with him. Enjoyed my cricket playing under Tim Southee. Will try to continue the same under Hardik’s captaincy.”

Kane Williamson said about his role in Gujarat Titans – “I will try to perform better according to the role given by the team management. I will always try to play the role given by the team. Playing IPL is a different experience for you. There’s always something to learn.”

On the question of opening with Shubman Gill, Kane Williamson said –

“Last few months have been wonderful for Shubman. I have seen him play. He has got a lot of talent. He is a special player. The team management will decide for me whether I will open or bat at 2 or 3. If I get a chance to open with Shubman Gill, I will enjoy it fully.”
