Indian cricket team’s star wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant had a fatal car accident just a few days back. Pant was going from Delhi to his home in Roorkee when his speeding car hit the divider. The accident was so dangerous that Pant’s car was burnt to ashes. Pant also suffered a lot of injuries after this accident and he is currently admitted in the hospital. After the accident of this star cricketer, now captain Kapil Dev, who won the first World Cup to India, has given a big statement.

Reacting to Rishabh Pant’s horrific car accident, legendary cricketer Kapil Dev has offered advice to youngsters, saying, “You can easily afford a driver.” Pant had become a victim of a car accident on Friday morning. He was going from New Delhi to his hometown Roorkee and was driving his Mercedes car. The 25-year-old Pant suffered serious injuries on his forehead, torn knee ligament, also sustained injuries on his right wrist, ankle, toe. When his car hit the divider on the Dehradun highway and caught fire.

Young cricketers should take a lesson

The 1983 World Cup-winning captain said, “It is a lesson for young cricketers. When I was a budding cricketer, I had to face a motorcycle accident. From that day onwards, my brother did not even let me touch the motorcycle. I am just thankful to God that Rishabh Pant is safe. He said, yes, you have a good car, which is very fast, but you have to be careful. You can easily afford the driver, you don’t need to drive it alone. I understand that one also has a fondness or passion for such things. It is natural to be like this at his age, but you also have responsibilities. Only you can take care of yourself. You have to decide things for yourself.

Pant is being taken care of

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) assured that Pant will get all possible medical care and assistance to come out of this painful phase. Pant, after initially being taken to Saksham Hospital Multispeciality and Trauma Centre, is currently admitted to Max Hospital in Dehradun. He has been shifted from the ICU to a private suite due to the high risk of infection.
