Keegan Petersen has been ruled out of South Africa’s Test tour of New Zealand due to COVID-19 and has been replaced by Zubair Hamza.

The Mental Well-Being Determined :-

A CSA statement on Wednesday morning said Keegan Peterson is “well and asymptomatic”, and the board’s medical team “will be in close contact with him to determine his physical and mental well-being”.

Pietersen, 28, was the batting star of South Africa’s recent 2-1 home Test series wins over India, topping the run charts with 276 runs in six innings at an average of 46.00.

Although he failed to score three points in any innings – his career-best of 82 in the last Test – Keegan Pietersen ranked as South Africa’s favorite one-drop in the longest profile in recent times. given, and currently has an average of 35.55 in five Tests.

Hamza Also Played Five Tests :-

Hamza has not played his only ODI for South Africa since he scored 56 off 79 balls from No. 3 against the Netherlands at Centurion in November 2021. 26-year-old Hamza has also played five Tests, scoring 181 runs. at an average of 18.10.

Simon Harmer is included in the 17-man squad for the two-Test series. The offspinner last played for South Africa in 2015 and signed a Kolpak deal with Essex in 2017.

Those who were resting for the ODIs against India are Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jensen, Glenton Sturman, Duane Olivier, and all-rounder Viaan Mulder. Sisanda Magala, who was including in the Test squad for the India series, has been dropped.

Enrique Nortje, who was ruled out of the India Test due to a hip injury, is still out of action.
