ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2024 tournament starts from January 19. It will start with America facing Ireland and South Africa facing West Indies.

All matches will be played at these places;-

The Under-19 World Cup 2024 is being hosted by South Africa with all the matches to be played in Potchefstroom, Bloemfontein, Benoni, Kimberley and East London. Both the semi-finals and final are to be played in Benoni.

After all, why was the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2024 shifted from Sri Lanka to South Africa :-

Let us tell you that this edition of Under-19 World Cup 2024 was actually to be played in Sri Lanka but this was so until the ICC suspended Sri Lankan cricket in November due to widespread government interference in the administration of the board. Because of this the tournament was shifted to South Africa.

However, Sri Lanka retained the hosting qualification rights despite the tournament being shifted to South Africa. Also, let us tell you that South Africa is hosting the Under-19 World Cup for the third time after 1998 and 2020.

How will be the format of the tournament :-

Now talking about the format of this tournament, 16 teams will be divided into groups of four each, the top three teams from each group will qualify for the Super Six stage, where 12 teams will be divided into two groups of six each. . The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

Also, all the teams participating this year have played the Under-19 World Cup before, in which the least experienced team is the United States of America (USA) whose this is only their third year.

Now let’s talk about those players on whom everyone’s eyes will be: India’s seam-bowling all-rounder Arshin Kulkarni, New Zealand’s leg spinner Rahman Hikmat who is of Afghan origin, Afghanistan’s Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar, England’s Luke Benkenstein and Pakistan’s Ubaid Shah. .

Ubaid Shah is the brother of Pakistan international Naseem Shah, Hassan Eisakhail is the son of Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan’s nephew is Usman Shinwari, Luke Benkenstein is the son of former South African batsman Dale Benkenstein and Musheer is the brother of Sarfaraz Khan.
