According to media reports, 41-year-old MS Dhoni will play his farewell IPL season. Speaking to InsideSport, a CSK official said, “Yes, this will be MS Dhoni’s last IPL season as a player. This is what we know so far.
But of course his decision will be final. He has not officially talked to the management that he will retire. It is a special occasion for all CSK fans as IPL is back in Chennai. But if Dhoni plays his last season then it will be a sad moment.
Dhoni will be seen handling the command of CSK in IPL 2023 :-
MS Dhoni handed over the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings to Ravindra Jadeja before last season. However, mid-season, Dhoni was reinstated as captain as Jadeja’s performance was taking a toll and the team continued to lose. Now Dhoni will be seen taking charge of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023.

According to some reports, MS Dhoni will play his last match in Chennai on May 14 where Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders. This will be CSK ‘s 13th match in the league stage. CSK’s last match of the league stage will be against Delhi Capitals, which will be an away match.

After making his IPL debut in 2008, MS Dhoni played 234 matches, scoring 4978 runs at an average of 39.20 and a strike rate of 135.20. During this, Dhoni scored 24 half-centuries. Dhoni’s best score is an unbeaten 84 off 48 balls, which he scored against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2019 edition.
