Know why Wasim Jaffer said, “India Cap Shouldn’t Be Given Easily”

Wasim Jaffer: Former India opener Wasim Jaffer has said that the Indian cricket team cap should not be given “easily and quickly” and players should not be picked on the basis of a good Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He also said that players should be given time to perform consistently in two-three domestic seasons as well.

India has tried a lot of players especially in the last two years. Many players have tried after doing well in the IPL. These players include Shahbaz Ahmed, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Suryakumar Yadav, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana, Deepak Hooda etc.

991 players have signed to be a part of IPL 2023 player auction :-

Notably, a total of 991 players (714 Indian and 277 overseas players) have signed up to be a part of the IPL 2023 player auction to be held on December 23, 2022, in Kochi.
