Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal is once again in the news. During an interview with Pakistani journalist Hafiz Muhammad Imran, the reporter compared Akmal to Virat Kohli. In fact, Akmal was dropped from the team during the domestic tournament. He gave an emotional reply to this.

Akmal criticized PCB –

Akmal said – “I am very ashamed that Raza said in such a direct manner. He should have taken the names of those who called or sent letters saying that I should not play. I have given so much to Pakistan. Isn’t he even worth it now. PCB’s role is to support its players in tough times.”

I batted out of my skin to be honest and I surprised myself,” says Virat Kohli | Sports News,The Indian Express

Pakistan cricket has seen a lot of changes in the last few years. From a change in captaincy to the appointment of Najam Sethi as the chairman, several changes were seen. Rameez Raja was unceremoniously sacked as PCB chairman last year.

Citing the example of Virat Kohli, Akmal said –

“A great example for this is Virat Kohli. He was not sidelined when he was not performing. They kept feeding him here and there, he was not told that your cricket is over. I give credit to the Indian Cricket Board. I’ll give them support.”
