Jason Roy replacement: Just a few days before the start of IPL 2024, England’s ace batsman Jason Roy, who played for KKR, has decided to opt out of this season of IPL due to personal reasons.

After this, KKR has now announced his replacement. As a replacement for Jason Roy, KKR has included another England player Phil Salt in its team for his base price of Rs 1.5 crore.

Let us tell you that Salt, who represented Delhi Capitals in the last season of IPL, remained unsold during the mini auction of IPL 2024.

IPL said in a statement:-

“Kolkata Knight Riders have selected Phil Salt as the replacement for Jason Roy after he opted out of the upcoming IPL 2024 due to personal reasons,” the IPL said in a statement. Salt represented Delhi Capitals last year. He remained unsold in the auction. This will be Salt’s second IPL season.

Phil Salt played 9 matches for Delhi in his debut season:-

Phil Salt had come to play in this league for the first time (IPL 2023). He played 9 matches for Delhi Capitals. During this period he scored 218 runs. His strike rate was 163.91. He scored the highest score of 87 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, after this he scored back to back centuries against West Indies. His century in the fourth match was the joint-fastest century by any England batsman in this format.
