Krunal Pandya Flopped in Captaincy Debut Match Laxman-Markram Equaled

New Delhi. Krunal Pandya, the elder brother of Hardik Pandya, has also made his IPL debut as captain. However, Krunal could not make his debut match as a captain memorable. In the 45th match of IPL against Chennai Super Kings (LSG vs CSK), he got a chance to make his captaincy debut for Lucknow Super Giants. Team’s regular captain KL Rahul is almost out of the remaining matches of IPL due to injury. Krunal could not do anything amazing with the bat and got out on a golden duck. With this, an embarrassing record was added to his name.

Krunal Pandya became the third batsman in the history of IPL to get out on zero in the captain’s debut match. Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Eden Markram was also dismissed for zero in his debut match this year, while VVS Laxman could not open an account in his first captaincy match in the first season of IPL.

Mahish Tikshan Sent Pavilion to Krunal

Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. Opener Manan Vohra and Kyle Meyers had returned to the pavilion cheaply. All eyes were now on Krunal Pandya, who came out to bat for the first time as captain, but spinner Mahish Teekshana gave a big blow to the Super Giants by catching Krunal in the first ball to Ajinkya Rahane in the slips.

Ayush Badoni Played Half-Century Innings

The teams of Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings were face to face at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. In this match, the toss was delayed due to rain. CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and called LSG for batting first. LSG had scored 125 runs for 7 wickets in 19.2 overs. For Lucknow, Ayush Badoni scored an inning of 59 runs while Moin Ali, Mahish Teekshana and Mathisa Pathirana took two wickets each. After this it started raining again which continued for some time. Later the umpires canceled the match. One point was awarded to both the teams.
