Krunal Pandya is set to return to India due to a back injury. Krunal Pandya’s stint with Warwickshire has been cut short due to injury. The all-rounder, signed by the county team for the Royal London One-Day Cup, is set to return to India on Monday evening.

17 August, Krunal was injured after scoring 37

During Warwickshire’s match against Nottinghamshire on 17 August, Krunal was injured after scoring 37 runs. He could not even play the second innings of the match. Pandya also missed the next two matches of Middlesex and Durham

Likely to be put out of action for three weeks

Consultation with doctors revealed that the injury is likely to keep Kunal out of action for three weeks.

“It is disappointing to lose Krunal for the remainder of the tournament. But our best wishes are with him,” Warwickshire Director of Cricket Paul Farbrace said in a statement issued by the county. “Krunal was an excellent role model all around the group. And I am sure the younger members of the team would have learned a lot from him on and off the pitch.

Five Royal London Cup records for Warwickshire

Krunal played five Royal London Cup matches for Warwickshire this season. In which he scored 134 runs at an average of 33.50, including 74 off 82 balls in the tied game against Surrey at The Oval. He took nine wickets at 25.00 with his left-arm spin, including three consecutive against Sussex and Leicestershire.

Past Records

The 31-year-old Krunal, who plays for Lucknow Supergiants in the IPL, is hoping to revive his international career. He last played for India in July 2021 during the tour of Sri Lanka. He has played five ODIs and 19 T20Is so far.
