The 15th season of the Asia Cup is going to start in the UAE from 27 August. It is hosted by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, in which a total of 6 teams are going to participate. The Asia Cup was started in 1984 and since then this tournament has been organized almost every two or three years. The last time this tournament was held was in 2018. The winning team of that season was the Indian team, which captured the Asia Cup for a record seventh time. Sri Lanka is second only to India, which has won the battle for Asian supremacy 5 times, while Pakistan’s team has got a chance to lift the Asia Cup only twice. It took 16 years for Pakistan to win the first trophy.

India won the first season

India won the first season of the Asia Cup, which happened in 1984. Sri Lanka won the title in 1986 and then India won the title three times in a row in 1988, 1991 and 1995. After this Sri Lankan team became the winner of Asia Cup in 1997. At the same time, Pakistan got a chance to win the title for the first time in the year 2000. After this, the Sri Lankan team was the winner in 2004 and 2008. At the same time, in 2010, India won the title. In 2012, the Pakistan team won the Asia Cup. At the same time, Sri Lanka won in 2014 and India in 2016 and 2018.
